You're welcome!

Gotcha! :-) I had to go looking but I remember what those brushes of mine are - synthetic mongoose. (I do have to wonder: are there many synthetic mongooses (mongeese?) in the world and am I endangering them?) I discovered these by accident when I figured out that I absolutely hated bristle brushes and couldn't afford the sables.

I'm there with ya on that! You'd either have to be a Barbie...or a Pepto Bismol addict. :-P (ewww....)

Thanks, always nice to recieve compliments from an artist I admire!

Yeah, art supplies... It's that christmas morning feeling when I can stroll down the rows and rows of colors and tools, knowing I've money to spend!

:)

I don't think the brushes I got were genuine sable-one might be-I was picking more for itty-bitty tip size than for material. Love those tiny brushes for the fine details, jewelry, wisps of hair, feathers, fur...

I usually end up mixing for flesh tones anyway, since nobody is really one solid color. It just freaks me out that they have the temerity to call it portrait pink and offer it as the ONLY option... It's such a ridiculous plastic pink, you'd have to be a Barbie doll!

Dang woman - look at all this great sculpture on your site!

Shopping for art supplies - there's not many greater highs than that. I can spend a lot of time just going down the aisles saying, "Ooooooo.....Aaaaaaaahhhhhh........oooOOOOooooo....." :-D

What kind of brushes did you get? I'm blanking on what my favorite brushes are made of - they were relatively new on the market when I got them and supposed to be an alternative to sable...AAAHHHH!!! Now, I'm going to go insane (-er) until I remember what they're called.

You know, I've always wondered that about portrait pink too. "Uglyass" is right! According to "Problem Solving for Oil Painters," the colors for flesh could be approximated with orange, white and blue. Of course, the only problem with that is that he doesn't tell *which* varieties of those colors mix well with each other!

After saying all that...tan sounds like am excellent choice! :-P
