amaranth

Such a wanton, pretty plant. I’ve always loved the amaranth, in fact it was one of my secretforestelfprincess names when I was a wee, gangly tree-jumpin’ waif in the northwoods of Maine.

Sometimes it’s tall, gorgeous spikes festoon my paintings with their brilliant, voluptous atmosphere of devotion, adoration and abundance.

It’s even edible!

I am looking to find this particular amaranth plant to grow in CA. I bought the “spikes” or blooms as part of a bouquet in a farmers market
in Pismo Beach CA. Do you have any idea where this particular amaranth type plant is sold? I’ve discovered there are actually many different amaranth species. Your picture is lovely. Thank you,
    Bonnie
