Being Tree

tree

This is still one of my favorites. I look at it every day, since it’s sitting on our kitchen table! The tree is made up of people. It’s ceramic, but most people think it’s wood when they first see it.

You can see the bodies a little better here, or at least one of them.

Deities of old

v1

One set of these pagan god/goddess figures was bought by a woman who was creating an unmarriage ceremony.

v2

I think the other sold at a Woman of Wisdom event.

Yemaya

oya

My piscean soul always draws me to the watery beings. I’ve sketched, painted or sculpted countless mermaids… I remember making merscenes with my plasticene kiddie clay when I was a wee lassie in the Maine woods.

Yemaya is the goddess of oceans.

Sorceress

sorceress

She’s looking at me right now from the bookshelf, spellcasting her hair forward into a unicorn.

Fate

Fate

You can’t see it terribly well in the picture, but she’s braiding strands of fate.

I believe she’s braiding them, right now, somewhere in a box in my soon to be sorted out garage. Not really a proper fate for the Goddess of Fate, huh?

I’ll have to do something about that before she tweaks my braid.

Fertility goddess

FG

I was about this pregnant when I sculpted her too.

FGd

There was so much energy surging and swirling through me, I think that’s where all the whorls I carved on her came from.

Hurray!

I just got the downpayment on my Sarasvati commission.

Tomorrow, I’m headed to the University bookstore for to buy me a nice white canvas!

Now I’d better go make sure my bacon’s not burning…

Mmmm… Bacon, beans and collards.

Ninja oil bottle

Friday, January 20th, 2006

In the middle of a massage today, I set the bottle on the heater-it slid off the edge, leapt to the floor and executed a triple(I swear!) flip, did a little dance and landed upright amidst the splatter of oil on the floor!

The client had her eyes closed, but I was awestruck.

Elastic nipples

Thursday, January 19th, 2006

C1. While nursing, your supervisor’s nipple should be inserted completely in your mouth at all times. Do not take this time as an opportunity to look around, play “catch-and-release,” or make “mouth music.” It should be noted that just because nipples can stretch to an alarming three to four inches long, it does not mean this is acceptable or desirable behavior. No horseplay will be tolerated while employees are in this work area!

SJ makes me snort.

Dragons #5

babies

My mom wrote a children’s story wherein a little boy and his big sister are transported to a land where the things they imagine manifest.

The boy keeps ‘magining’ up baby dragons, though no one knows where they are coming from, so all these babies keep mysterously popping up and wreaking mischievious havoc.

I made a whole bunch of them, but I think they all sold at various craft fairs or were gifted to friends and relations, so I don’t know where they are currently causing mischief.

It’s kind of nice knowing they’re out there though. I like populating the world with my creations. It’s so cool when people love my creatures and other artworks so much that they want to take them home!
