Camping with Faeries

Sam and I had a magical time this weekend, camping with my dear friend Holly and her brand new fiance, Danny! (Many blessings and congratulations on their newly-betrothed, smiling faces and kudoes to Danny-the boy knows how to do it right-in Kauai, no less, with a big, pretty sparkly antique ring).

faeriegirl

This little one stole my heart and rightfully won best little girl costume too! She and her faerie granma were amazing. I took pics of both of them but there were so many pretty faeries to shoot, I couldn’t possibly show them all here, so I bit the Flickr bullet an’ got me an account. Check ‘em out!

The one I loved best was the mudfaerie tho… Maybe next year, I’ll join her in the muck

an’ help her make her lovely glorpy beasties an’ goddesses.

Drowning in fresh love

As one of the poets(so poetically) put it tonight at the Little Red Studio

I AM drowning in the fresh, beautiful love of a community that joyously celebrates art, sensuality, humanity, creativity, diversity and well, love!

Where I get to do this!

lucybelly

What a gorgeous, luscious night. Not only did I paint the lovely Lucy, but I got painted myself, danced, feasted on scrumptious desserts, saw incredible, chilling, delicious performances, kissed beautiful women and writhed about seductively(in a slinky red dress) as eye candy for Tito’s ‘Pumpkin Pussy Pie’ song…

Tomorrow, it’s off to Oregon for the Fairy Festival.

Aaaaaah… Life is rich.

Choiceless magic

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

‘The only magic that exists is this life, this world, the particular phenomena we are experiencing right at this moment. Right now, right here, you are this magic. For instance, in giving this talk, I am a captive speaker and you are a captive audience. We can’t just walk out in the middle of a sentence-if we were to try and do that, the implications would linger with us for a long time. So we cannot wipe out our past, present, or future. Magic is direct and personal and lingers in our state of being. It is choiceless magic.’

Fast as molasses

Monday, July 24th, 2006

Sam discovered thixotropy today, as he poured molasses on his frenchtoast.

It’s so hot, the butter was drooling all over it’s dish and he got WAY more molasses than he bargained for!

hoooboy… Fast and MESSY!

Happy birthday Sharon!

sharon

I painted kisses liberally amongst the guests, but Sharon got the extraspecial birthday Wargoddess armbands!

We rocked the sleepy neighborhood of Lake Forest Park last night, celebrating Love and my dear friend Sharon’s birthday… So much awesome live music, massage, poetry(I got to read my ‘Creation Porn’ and several other macabre/juicy pieces). The food was veganly delicious, the conversation was… very accupuncturial, and the lovin’ was awesome!

I love you gorgeous girl! You are a rich, juicy, strong treasure of a woman and I’m so proud of you, so happy and grateful to know you… I look forward to seeing your path unfurl, your practice open, your spirit bloom and thrive in the midst of life’s challenges, loves, lights and sorrows.

You are so loved.

If I were a goddess…

I’d be the karmic asswhuppin’ kind.

I worked on a client yesterday whose left side was all messed up(that’s perfessional terminology) from an accident a year ago. He’d been crossing the street early one foggy morning, when an SUV ran into him! The driver rolled down the window, yelled: ‘Idiot!’ at his prone form and zoomed off into the fog.

Gah.

Stuff like that makes me sorry to be human.

We made hoops!

My Naked Human Hoop-making Potlucky Party went well last night. My house was full of gorgeous half-naked women(a few boys here and there too!). Whooohooo! -I almost forgot about the hoop-making in my bedazzlement and the fun of wrastling the humonguous heap o’ clothes, but once I got everyone out back for the bonfire, music and hoopery, it all came together and lotsa pretty hoops took shape! Everyone went home happily feasted, wiser in the ways of the hula hoop and with new treasures for their wardrobe…

Hoops are actually pretty easy to make!

What a messy house! But hey, I think everyone had fun, the fridge is groaning with yummy leftovers and Sharon and I had fun setting up the kissing tent.

Not long ago, at a fundraiser for the Little Red Studio, the priviledge of painting Lucy’s beautiful belly was auctioned off for, if I remember correctly, $80…

l

Well, bless my lucky artistic stars, the lovely lady asked ME to paint her yesterday for a photo shoot!

Hurrah! I love being an artist.
