My poor dog got left out in the snow…

but Jack Frost took pity and granted her a magic horn-long live Unidog!

I was so thrilled to see icicles on our eve… I grew up in northern maine, loving the huge ice swords that hung from the roof every winter. These tiny driplets are nowhere near as impressive, but delightful nonetheless.

Even the rotten pumpkins are adorned today.

in the Tooberverse.

Love it when it snows in Rain City. D an’ Sam an’ I went for a walk late last night, hefting snoballs at each other and rolling giant balls to throw at random encountered objects.
I made us a little dragon while Sam scaled giant snowy bush mountains and sneak-attacked the Daniel.

Now it’s dumping buckets again… Wonder what we’ll do tonight?

In the midst of winter, cometh fire and light!

Last saturday’s Little Red Studio was marvelous. David Jones offered himself up as my canvas, closing his eyes, he yielded himself to my creative strokes of color and together we brought the sun back for all.
Today, he sent me a poem that warmed me from my toes to my painty, painty fingertips:
for zan
she’s already made one
her hands
cradling him in infancy
long smooth fingers
i envied him of her touch
until the night
she touched me
making another sun
eyes closed like his
trusting her totally
surrendering to her love
holding my arms out
to receive that
which i knew not
until she makes me like him
her pallet
the long strokes
of her creativity
there for all to see
like the smile on his face
put there by her care
for detail
her muse speaking through her
to me
and him
and the result
another son/sun
gloriusly come to life
we are both evidence
of her goddesshood
and exhibit ourselves
that you may appreciate more fully
who she is

Had ourselves a sweet little Thanksgiving. Daniel and I baked us a pheasant, with cornbread apple cranberry stuffing, smashed ‘taters, chinese long beans an gravy. My mom wrangled Sam for us while we cooked, bravely fending off his megalomaniacal toober and zot arsenal

We roasted gourmet chocolate striped marshmellows over a cozy fire, colored in a crazy, egg-layin’, fire breathing dragon and watched Millions.
Twas quite the nice, tender, yummy, silly, sweet family evening. But the best part was really the following morning.
We were all snuggled into my big ol’ queen bed(well, not my mom, she sensibly went home). Sometime during the night Rain(Kirsten’s beagle) came in and mashed our feet down into a good dog-shaped bed.
I got up, showered, came back to wake up the boys so I could drop them off at their various locations and get my ass to work.
me: ‘Sam, look who’s in bed with you!’
Sam blearily raises his head to see-gasps in horror and gloms onto Daniel, burying his head in D’s armpit.
me: ‘It’s just Rain honey, it’s just the dog!’
Sam(gingerly peeking from safety): ‘I thought it was a dead pharoah!’
Daniel and me: ‘????!!!’
Sam: ‘You know, that thing we ate for dinner…’
me(comprehension dawning): ‘The pheasant!’
Sam: ‘Yeah.’
D and I(helpless laughter).
We all laughed our butts off about it all the way to Daniel’s house.

Behold the bird, somewhat gamey, but WAY better than a dead pharoah.

Friends like these.

Had an absitively gorgeous afternoon today… I taught Sharon some Lover’s Knot yoga and she cut my hair.

She says she’s just an accupuncturist…

But I say she’s one hot mama hairstylist!
