Hurray for sausage-stuffed critters!

sausages

Sam’s centipede was the coolest, although I have to admit, it did come out looking a bit more like an obnoxiously cute caterpillar!

But no matter, they were all yummy and devoured in short order.

And, no it’s NOT an optical illusion-our kitchen is, in fact, circular and mustard yellow. Ah, seventies chic… It would be so much more endearing to us if the cute little curved drawers didn’t have to be opened seperately in order to function.

A marvelous sunny afternoon at Matthew’s Beach. The storm had toppled an immense tree, Sam had fun climbing the remaining pieces and kicking at the loose chaff.

T’was almost warm(in the sun) and we picnicked and played on a giant fallen willow branch. It had bouncy limbs and long, long flexible fingers-perfect for twining.

My wreath inspired a bunch of kids and their moms to follow suit. So satisfying to feed the artistic vibe in random passersby.

The Fremont Arts Council needed an Harlequin for their Mardigras poster.

So my lovely housemate got Jeff and I to paint her. It was so much fun! And, they sure got an exquisite ad for the Mardigras!

I finally remembered to take a picture of the standard I made for the Sungod to carry in my mom’s beautiful Solstice ritual at the Little Red Studio.

Jeff liked it so much it lives at the studio permanently now!*blush*.

My milkshake brings all the stags to the yard.

The snow was so excellent today I called in my cohorts! They rolled me up a big ol’ pile to work with.

Sophie donated the stag horns and made us cocoa whilst I sculpted.

The kids waged a snowball war on Daniel as he shot pictures and then Kirsten came along and the battle kicked into high gear!

ssf

The whizzing snow missiles didn’t stop me from stag-making, though I did have to call foul a few times when someone or other tried to use the stag as a fortress.

:)

Art therapy

Sunday, January 14th, 2007

My sister just put up a website regarding self esteem and art therapy…

It’s illustrated with some of my art, some of my mom’s art, and a lithograph I did years ago on depression.
