I love this picture. I took it at Larrabee State Park up near Bellingham. If you ever get a chance to go there, do. They have all these lovely little caves in the sandstone cliffwalls on the beach…
One set of these pagan god/goddess figures was bought by a woman who was creating an unmarriage ceremony.
I think the other sold at a Woman of Wisdom event.
My piscean soul always draws me to the watery beings. I’ve sketched, painted or sculpted countless mermaids… I remember making merscenes with my plasticene kiddie clay when I was a wee lassie in the Maine woods.
Yemaya is the goddess of oceans.
She’s looking at me right now from the bookshelf, spellcasting her hair forward into a unicorn.
You can’t see it terribly well in the picture, but she’s braiding strands of fate.
I believe she’s braiding them, right now, somewhere in a box in my soon to be sorted out garage. Not really a proper fate for the Goddess of Fate, huh?
I’ll have to do something about that before she tweaks my braid.
I was about this pregnant when I sculpted her too.
There was so much energy surging and swirling through me, I think that’s where all the whorls I carved on her came from.
