Woot! Another one! I guess I’m just not up on the movie scene. Murakami’s Tony Takitani has also been moviefied.

Krogstad movies are megaweird. We had a blast at the SAM and then B&O’d the evening away with yummy food and drinks-I had my first brandy alexander ever, which was yummy, though I don’t think I’m quite as taken by it as Feist-and excellent artistic conversation.

Sarah Silverman is frickin’ hilarious. Jesus is Magic rocks. Well, it’s mostly funny anyway and the scene where she makes out with herself in the mirror is hot.

Don’t miss the Santa Clause bonus song, but I recommend skipping the ‘making of’-a bit redundant, tho’ you do find out what those nipple clamps were all about.

Warner Bros rocks the people’s revolution and kills the government, Zorro the Shakespeare-spewing Terrorist Ninja Antichrist hurls daggers like shuriken and the formerly complaisant, tv palliated, barfly public steps up to the plate.

Hmmm… I wonder if a Guy Fawkes mask would go with my party dress?

Jadis was awesome-dreadlocks flying, swords flashing, sexy, fierce warrior witch queen. I mean, yeah, I know she’s evil incarnate and turns hapless squirrels into stone and ends up munched to death by Aslan, but… Oh my. I loved, loved, loved her in the battle scene.

The whole movie was so well done. Kudoes to the cast, the creators, costumers… New Zealand, for being such a spectacular setting for fantasy movies…

Lucy was perfect. What a cutie. Loved Tumnus the faun-could he be any more woebegone?

I don’t really have any objections, even though they took some liberties with the plot, it was really nicely pieced together.

Two thumbs(and a tail) up!

Rowan and Sam had fun desecrating, gulping cocoa and playing their little cat games. While they played the evening away, mom and I watched Shaolin Soccer-God, that’s a funny movie! I loved it, the kids caught the tail end and thought it was outrageously hilarious too.

I’ve introduced Sam to a lot of movies this year, but last night he turned the tables… I don’t know how I’ve missed seeing it all these years, but he introduced ME to ‘Close encounters of the third kind’.

It was cool. He was pretty excited to know more than I did about all the eerie spaceships zooming around. I found it pretty confusing, but the mothership was spectacular with all it’s cool skyscraperesque structures and dazzling multi-colored lights.

Now he’s busy guessing which transformer is in the big blue box under the tree. His head is so full of autobots and decepticons, it’s all he talks about… Endless lists of which class they’re in, or which planet they’re from.

I’ve been informed that we definately NEED a planet map. Who knew?

Hmmm… I’ll think I’ll round out our movie week by taking him to Wallace and Grommit, maybe that’ll open up some new, non-transformer shaped neural pathways in his 7 year old brain.

Elaine just pushed the scale right over tha top by adding her enthusiastic thumbs up to the already heaping pile.

The chicks kick ass-really, what more did I need to know?
