Red Vinyl Solstice

Monday, December 24th, 2007

Sophie bought me a slinky new dress. It’s been hanging at the entrance to my eyrie, whispering sultry red vinyl suggestions to me everytime I walk by… Solstice seemed like the the perfect time to slip it on. Click on the pictures to enlarge.

We feasted and danced and rang in the solstice with Seattle’s merry pagans. Jeff Hengst had his giant triptych displayed(with a curtain to protect the innocent) behind a set of two fire and ice sculptures(created by Peter Toms)-large rectangles of ice with fire blazing inside! It was a gorgeous effect.

The ceremony was fabulous, with much drumming and dancing and swooping of owls and other fabulous creatures…

It crescendoed with the burning of the intentions tree. A whirl of dancers lit the tree in a swiftly swirling dance with burning torches.

Very pretty and dramatic-got us up and roaring and stomping and shakin’ our booties-a fine solstice indeed!

Scaring the crap out of people…

…is fun.

I worked the ’spirit wall’ at Bastyr Haunted Trails last night. We had strobes and creepy music and fleshy, hair-grabbing, jelly wormy things hanging all over. I had these huge clawed hands to poke through the wall and grab at folks as they stumbled by, plus glowing black-lighted nasty masks to push into the stretchy black fabric-the effect is quite freaky, the faces looming out of nowhere in the dark forest…

The screams were delicious, though I must admit I felt bad for the littler kids-they looked so petrified. I certainly wouldn’t have taken Sam! Toooooooo Scarey!

Still, it was fun and being a freaky monster(still a little hoarse from all the ghoulish moanandhowling) was the perfect ending to my major meltdown of a day.

Rrrrraaahrwrrrr! Is it tasty? Is it juicy? Can we eats it? :)

It was hard to keep ‘my precious’ out of my jibbering. Wouldn’t want to get them laughing and spoil the delightful terror of it all.

If you’re someone who enjoys being frighted, you should definately check it out. It’s this weekend and next weekend at the Bastyr campus. And you’ll be supporting the accupuncture program.

Sexy punkin!

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

Yep, it’s time for the Toys in Babeland contest again!

I made a big ol’ pot of roasted punkin soup and invited my friends and cohorts over for a punkin carving. It was great fun, even if I did forget to buy votives. :(

Sadly, this means I don’t get to show you the awesomely cool punk-in that Danni and Matt carved, complete with pierced nose and eyebrow, or the beautiful tree and cat punkin that Norita made or Tessa and Finn’s spiralovely schmetterling punkin…

Sigh, such a waste of good bloggability.

Ah well, I did manage to get some pics of my sexy punkin

More here, along with a few shots of Tessa and Finn working on their flutterby an’ some of my mom’s excellent eggplant improvisation.

Hair, hair, hair!

Friday, August 17th, 2007

Lisa and I bought our extensions yesterday. Eva’s suggestion of Western Beauty Supply was right on key-crazy store has aisles and aisles of hair, all shades and colors, kinky, straight, real, fake, braided…

I got three different shades to go with my three different wooly, sparkly, grassy green dryad yarn. It’s going to be so fun bein’ a wacky wild long-hairy-haired nymph for Burning Man! Woot!

Now, just have to have a braiding party…

The Jungle

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

The LRS Season Finale Bash was a wild time in the jungle!

Jeff went crazy and opened all three venues, with a limo to shuttle people from party to party.

bev

Props to Bev the Lizard Queen and our Chief of all things Aerial, who orchestrated the entire show-an incredible feat, considering the monkeys and leopards, lizards, parrots(including a real live hyacinth macaw), lost zebras and insects dangling from trapezes, hoops ropes and silks. Not to mention Tarzan, the magnificent Amazon Queen and all sorts of wiggly furry jungle sylphs. It was truly awesome! Especially when the lizards ate the dragonfly. ;)

sat

I had the fun of being the aftershow entertainment with my new friend Satyr. We did an extremely fun bodypainting dance performance on the altar while people danced, gaggled, gawped and waited for the limo to whisk them to the other party space.

I had intended to do a really detailed jungle scene on him, but he’s such a good dancer and we had so much fun wiggling around the actual painting came out pretty impressionistic. It was so cool though, when I’d finished painting him, I leaped down from the altar and held out my hand and he joined me on the dance floor-we burned it up, leaping and cavorting and chasing each other in a wild, predatorial dance all over the stage.

me

I didn’t trip on my tattered shaman skirt, but I did dance my top off! Oh well, at the studio, naked is no problem. :)

More pics here(with the usual NUDITY warnings).

Fireworks deluxe

Best view of the fireworks ever!

yur

I attended a truly grand 4th of July party-on the rooftop of a north capital hill mansion. Sweeping city vistas yielded an excellent view of both firework shows and we also got to dance our patooties off to the sumptuous sounds of EQlateral(well, at least most of EQlateral) on the rooftop dancefloor, nestled amidst steep gables and giant brick chimneys.

It was magnificent.

I crawled through many legs to get to the edge,

so I could shoot zillions of pics for Sam.

Happy 4th, everyone!

Critical Cuties

cc

I’m pooped, but ’twas worth it(even despite the monsoon weather), cuz Critical Massive was so fun last week. Really, what could be better than a bunch of pretty, naked or glammed up burners dancing in the woods?

ck

Kitty has dragonfly wings tattooed on her back… I couldn’t resist finishing the job.

Besides dancin’ my socks off and snuggling up a storm, I lolled about at the lovely, pebbly river beach and painted many scrumptious little doodads on people, including myself.

Oh, and just to make it even more delicious, my dear friend Josh, the Pickle King, came flying in and partied with us. Plus I got to smuggle him home with me.

Critical cuties-oddly enough, I’m the only naked one in this batch.

It’s spring and my closet is groaning…

Art kicks Ass!

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

Come see how literally at the Little Red Studio Artathon this weekend.

We will be painting, sculpting, performing, dancing, poetizing, bodypainting and celebrating the life erotic(probably napping and cuddling as well) for twenty-four hours STRAIGHT! Yes folks, 8pm saturday to 8pm sunday!

I can’t wait to get my hands on some clay, and in some paint and on some bodies-HEY!-It’s art, don’t look at me like that.

Clayton and Kerry will kick your butt.

A new wardrobe need arises…

sb

I borrowed these delightfully spikey boots from the fabulous Holly at Michael’s awesome, sweet pj party a few weeks back-could not resist the Tank Girlicious opportunity to tower wickedly over everyone.

Sigh… The power of cool boots. If only they were mine, I would rule the world!

;)
