I wrecked Agnitara last week, damnit.
I was thinking(waytoohard) and the sun was blazing in my eyes and I just didn’t see that damn light go red, couldn’t stop in time not to smack into an Accord. Managed to drive to the gas station at the intersection and park.
Luckily no one was seriously injured(though my life is now a blur of chiropractic adjustments, massage and creaky, unhappy joints and muscles), but since I was too broke to afford collision last time the bills rolled around, I’m carless in Seattle.
Boo.
At one of these participating restaurants and thirty percent of the proceeds will go to the Lifelong AIDS Alliance and the fight against HIV and AIDS in the Puget Sound region.
Sam and I ‘xplored the other(not towards beachy goodness) end of Carkeek park a few weeks ago.
Much to our delight we found a gnarly old orchard where many of the ancient, twisty apple and pear trees had slipped lazily down onto the ground and were still growing, sideways in lovely loopy patterns.
There was much climbing and basking and adventuring along the windy stream with it’s lovely mossy rocks and perfect walking logs..
(click to see the weird expression on Sam’s face)
I added this bunch o’ pics to my Carkeek set on Flickr.
Ah, what a beautiful world!
Don’t let Monsanto use our own government to take control of our food.
You Tube video here. Yes, Shelly’s a cute blond, but she knows what she’s talking about and she’s sharp as a tack, unlike your average You Tube commenter, who generally seem to be the slimy goop slowly drying onto the bottom of the barrel of human stupidity.
Went for a sunny morning stroll in Ravenna park after dropping the Sam off at his bus.
This sleepy hawk was sunning on a high branch as three raucous crows attempted to harass it by diving and cawing audaciously, scant inches from the raptor’s roost. It sat there perfectly unperturbed, preening itself a little.
Go hawk! The crow trio finally gave up their sorry attack and just perched a few yards away while the lord of the canyon slowly woke up.
What a pretty morning.
An interesting article on teasing.
Teasing can be a really sweet, funny, useful form of communicating. We tease all the time at my house and it’s all good mischievous fun, but I’ve been in relationships before where it wasn’t always so benificent. The line between teasing and bullying can be a pretty fine one and it is often misused as a guise for passive aggression or just plain meanness.
Got that, you sloggy trolls?!
..But what I’m wondering is, what’s the karmic penalty for robbing a 2700 year old shaman’s grave?
