it's coming!
my birthday bed is on it's way. It's my 35th on monday, and I'm having a bedmaking party. I've always wanted a four poster. Ever since I was a(terribly romantic)little girl in the north woods of Maine, reading Ivanhoe and Robin Hood and Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea-all those tales of desperate, valiant men and the gorgeous , heroic women who inspired them, thrilled them, desired them... I'm not sure what it is, but for some reason having tall dark cherrywood posts and pretty metal scrollwork surrounding my purple velvet sanctuary just seems like the creme de la creme... So, I'm all aquiver, the purple velvet bedding arrived today and the lovely thing itself gets here on friday. Ooooooooh.... I can hardly wait!

Kali worked with me for a wonderful cutting away and release ritual. She is so wonderful... I love that she watches over me as I work.

Thanks, the bed just came today... Sam helped open the boxes and count the parts.

Oh, wow! I've always dreamed of a magical four poster. The little twin bed I slept in from when I was a little girl until I left for college had four very small mini-posts that I used to wish would grow and grow. Congratulations! And happy happy happy birthday!!

y'know, I've heard if you wish really hard and rub them three times they do grow-oh no, that's boys... Or lanterns or something...
